KAYCEE KUNA COLLECTION Q&A
What was your inspiration for this collection?
MY FAVORITE ACCESSORY IS A PINKY RING; NOT ONLY FOR THE AESTHETIC OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE ON, BUT ALSO HOW IT MAKES ME FEEL WHEN I WEAR ONE. I WANTED TO CREATE PIECES THAT OTHERS COULD WEAR AS AN EVERYDAY STATEMENT THAT MADE THEM FEEL JUST AS POWERFUL AS I FEEL WHEN I WEAR MINE.
What about this collection do you want people to feel when wearing the pieces?
I want them to feel like a boss. I want them to feel effortlessly strong and powerful and I want them to wear it on their sleeve (pinky finger) proudly.
What are your styling tips for this collection?
KEEP IT SIMPLE. PAIR WITH A CHIC BOYFRIEND BLAZER, HAIR UP IN A MESSY PONYTAIL, WITH MATCHING EAR CUFFS AND A LIP. I LIKE TO KEEP THE CLOTHES SIMPLISTIC AND COMFORTABLE, AND ADD SMALL STATEMENTS LIKE THE PINKY RINGS, A CHIC BAG AND A GOOD HEEL/SNEAKER.
Do you have any styling tips on stacking rings?
It’s all about balance - use mid rings to help with this. Also, don’t be afraid to mix metals, especially if you don’t know if you’re more of a gold or silver person.
Describe your style in 3 words.
Comfortable. Effortless. Simplistic.
Some of your favorite pieces of jewelry at the moment?
Gold oval pinky ring on left hand, gold SQUARE pinky ring on right hand, gold hoops, gold ear cuffs. Pretty much my every day ensemble.
What are some of your favorite Argento Vivo pieces right now?
I LOVE the Mini Tube Hoops paired with the Mini Huge Hoops and I also love the Small Bold Hoops in two tone paired with gold and silver rings like the Open Band Ring and Wrap Around CZ Ring.
What is your trademark accessory?
Gold or silver?
Album/artist/song on repeat right now?
I have a playlist with SZA, Sabrina Claudio, H.E.R., Kelela, Lauryn Hill, Nao, Alina Baraz, & many more incredible women.
Who are your style muses/icons?
Stylist, Law Roach, what he has done with Celine Dion’s style is absolutely iconic and a dream. Stylist, Karla Welch, not only is she incredibly talented and effortlessly chic, but she’s also a political activist/feminist, a very strong positive influence on important matters going on in the world (outside of this industry) AND a traveling mother. GOALS. Dior Men’s director of jewelry, Yoon Ahn, her style and statement pieces are ALWAYS on point. She is years ahead of the game.
What is your favorite part about being a stylist?
When I have a vision and watch it come together from scratch and the look of joy and confidence on my client’s face when they see themselves in the mirror. Especially, if they’re wearing something they never in a million years thought they would wear. It builds trust between the stylist and client which I think is so important and special.
